Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a welcoming and well-resourced secondary school in Hillingdon seeking to appoint a proactive and reliable DT Technician from September 2026 . This full-time role is ideal for someone with experience in Design and Technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or a school technician role who is committed to supporting high-quality teaching and learning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful DT department, providing technical support across a range of disciplines while helping students develop valuable practical skills in a safe and inspiring learning environment. The Role As a DT Technician , you will support the Design and Technology department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring practical lessons run smoothly and safely. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for practical Design and Technology lessons. Providing technical support across specialist areas such as Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, and Construction. Maintaining, servicing, and organising workshop machinery, tools, and equipment. Ensuring all machinery and equipment are safe, compliant, and ready for use. Supporting teachers and students during practical lessons where required. Monitoring stock levels and ordering materials and equipment. Maintaining an organised, clean, and safe workshop environment. Carrying out regular health and safety checks and risk assessments. Ensuring compliance with COSHH regulations and health and safety procedures.
