📍 London - Hybrid. 2 days per week in our London office, 3 days remote / work from home 📅 Initial 3 month FTC - potential option for extension or perm. ⏰ 40 hour week ideally although 30-32 hours considered. 🚆 Monthly travel to one of our other offices (Sheffield/Lincoln) is essential. ✴ All travel and accommodation costs to non-base office locations are fully covered. We've spent the last three years transforming how our People Team operates. Now we're looking for someone to own the machine and work out what comes next! About the role We're looking for a People Operations Lead to own the operating layer of our People function, managing our People Operations Specialist and reporting directly to our People Director. This is a slightly unusual brief, because we're looking for a very particular combination of experience. First and foremost, you need to be an experienced, hands-on People Operations person. But you also need to have previously worked as an accountant, or have substantial professional accountancy experience. And we mean accountancy specifically. Experience partnering with Finance, managing a People budget or processing payroll isn't the same thing. Why such a specific combination? Because we've seen first-hand just how well it can work . We've seen the value that a professional accountancy background can bring when combined with strong People Operations experience - financial discipline, an instinct for controls and data, and an analytical approach to understanding how systems and processes work. We're now deliberately looking for that combination again. This isn't a traditional HR Operations role, and we're not looking for someone to simply keep existing processes running. We want someone who's genuinely curious about how and why things work - someone who spots friction, interrogates the data, challenges the way we've always done things and builds something better.
