The Role We are seeking a committed, experienced and adaptable Senior Teacher to join Pebbles Academy Dunfermline. This is a teaching–focused role with additional leadership responsibilities across Teaching and Learning, Qualifications Scotland certification, curriculum development, learner progress and attainment, pastoral support and school improvement. The Senior Teacher will be an experienced practitioner who is able to lead by example, support and develop colleagues and contribute positively to the strategic and operational development of the school. The postholder will deliver a range of curricular areas across the Broad General Education (BGE) and Senior Phase. The role requires a flexible practitioner who can respond to the diverse needs of our learners, contribute across subject areas and support wider curriculum delivery. The Senior Teacher will hold an enhanced pastoral responsibility and will support the Headteacher in ensuring that pupils receive high–quality, consistent and personalised educational experiences. A key aspect of the role will be providing leadership for Teaching and Learning, supporting the development of effective classroom practice, assessment and pedagogy across the school. The postholder will also coordinate Qualifications Scotland certification and examination processes, ensuring that learners and staff are appropriately supported to achieve successful outcomes. Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities Plan and deliver high–quality, engaging lessons to small groups of pupils, adapting approaches to meet individual needs. Deliver assigned classes, including preparation, assessment and feedback, both in–person and online where required. Create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes engagement, wellbeing and achievement.
